Policies

The following policies and procedures are current for the dance season Aug 2007 through May 2008.  If you have any questions about our policies, procedures or fees please contact the office. Thank you.

1. Open House & Registration- Registration is held in the summer. A registration fee of $35.00 per family is due at the time of registration.  You will be able to tour the studio and meet the instructors as well as sign up for classes at this time.

2. Costumes & Costume Fees- Costume fees are due Thursday November 15.  No costume will be ordered without being paid for.  If a late order is placed a $15 late fee per costume will be charged to the student.  NO REFUNDS if a costume has already been ordered.  Costume fees are found in the brochure or inquire with the office.

3. Class Fees & Tuition- Class tuition is due the first week of every month.  There are 36 weeks in the dance year, broken down to 9 equal payments even though you might not have 4 weeks in a month.  If tuition has not been paid for 2 months the student will not be allowed to attend class unless the balance is paid in full.  A $10 late fee will be charged if tuition is not paid by the 10th of each month. No Exceptions!  A $20 fee is charged for all returned checks.

4. Class Attire & Apparel- All students are required to be neat and clean with long hair pulled back from the face.  All girls may wear any color or style of dance/tumbling clothes.  All boys and adults will wear comfortable movable clothing. Absolutely NO jeans or jean shorts will be allowed.Pointe class students need to wear fitted dance clothes.  Cheerleading students need to wear cheer shoes & have any hair longer the shoulders pulled up in a ponytail, braid or bun. 

5. Class Specials or Discounts- Only 1 discount per family.  Register for two classes or a second child and receive a $5.00 discount each month.  Register for 3 classes and the 3rd class is 1/2 price.  Register for 5 classes and the 5th class is free!

6. Fundraising-The fall/spring fundraiser is to be used to raise money for lessons, recital fee, costumes and merchandise.  All funds needs to be used during the dance season they were earned (Sept – May). 

7. Snow Days & Cancellations-inMotion follows the Newton School System.  If school has been cancelled all classes at inMotion are cancelled as well.  Cancellation will be placed on the studio voice-mail and announced through KCOB radio station FM 95.9.  Each class is allowed 1 cancellation without make-up.  If more than one should occur a make-up class will be scheduled or a credit will be given to the student’s account. 

8. Recital/Performance Fee- $20 per family is due by Thursday February 7.  The recital fee is used to help pay for the reantal of the Newton Center for the Performing Arts.  The recital fee is also helps us so we do not have to have a ticket cost for our performance.  If a family member signs up to assist during recital the cost will be lowered to $15.  Please inquire at the office for more information about volunteering.
