What is dance? It’s the expression of the soul through the lines of the body and pure movement. Different types of dance emphasize different movements and techniques.

Ballet-Ballet serves as a foundation for all types of motion and consists of a set of mandatory positions and steps. While there are various techniques and styles of ballet, exacting foot work and rigid posture are always required. Ballet teaches strength, stamina and grace. Ballet classes are available for ages 3-18yrs old.
Modern- Modern dance emerged around the turn of the century and was created as a reaction against the traditional moldings of ballet. Instead emphasizing the fluidity (or lack of fluidity) of movement over set and static positions. Modern dance tends to emphasize the flexibility of the torso, along with the rest of the body. Modern classses are availble for ages 9ys through adults.
Jazz- Combines the same strength and stretch of ballet with the non-traditional movements of modern. Typically performed to more upbeat, fast paced music, Jazz is very popular for both the cardiovascular benefits as well as fun. Jazz classes are available for ages 6yrs through adults.
Tap- Tap was born or created in the United States during the nineteenth century. The name comes from the tapping sound made when the small metal plates on the dancer’s shoes touch a hard floor. This lively, rythmic tapping makes the performer not just a dancer, but also a percussive musician. Tap classes are available for ages 3yrs through Adults.
Hip Hop- is a cultural movement that began among urban African Americans in New York City in teh early 1970′s. It has since spread around the world. Hip Hop offers a unique expression of personality and fun to dancers of all ages. Hip Hop classes are availble fora ges 6yrs through Adults.
Drill Team- Drill team combines jazz style dancing with a military type of precision and includes high kick, poms, turns, leaps, precision dancing, teamwork and self esteem. In this class you will learn what it takes to make it on a high school drill team. Drill team classes are available fora ges 9yrs to 18yrs.
Tumbling – Tumbling is a sport that involves exercise intended to display strength, balance and agility. Students will learn skills that will enhance their coordination, flexibility and strength. Basic tumbling through advanced skills are taught at several different levels. Tumbling classes are available fora ges 18mos to 18yrs.
Cheerleading- Cheerleading is a sport that uses organized routines made from elements of tumbling, dance and stunting to direct an event’s spectators to cheer on a sports team/team member and/or compete at cheerleading competitions.. Both recreational and competitive cheerleading teams are available for all ages and skill levels. This program teaches the foundation skills of cheerleading including motion technique, jumps, stunt safety, stunt skills, cheers/chants and tumbling. Competitive teams will attend several competitions and exhibition performances in addition to participating in the tumbling recital. This program is reccomended for anyone interested in learning about cheerleading or who would like to become a member for a highschool cheer team. Cheerleading classes/teams are available for ages 4yrs through Adult.
